Remove / Install the Shift Boot

Removal

 

Step 1: Remove Center Console.

 

Step 2: Remove Manual Transmission Knob.

 

Step 3: Pull up on the back of the plastic base. The boot is glued to a plastic base which is snapped onto the shifter assembly.  Grab the end toward the rear of the car and pull straight up, and it should unsnap.  Once unsnapped, the whole thing will slide off the top of the shifter shaft.

 

 

 

Installation is reverse of removal

 

The boot is keyed, so you cannot install it backward.  Slide it around until the front 2 snap points catch, then snap the back in place.
